Ottawa Winter Tires
- A tire (in American English) or tyre (in British English) is a ring-shaped covering that fits around a wheel rim to protect it and enable better vehicle performance by providing a flexible cushion that absorbs shock while keeping the wheel in close contact with the ground.
- This type of tire is suitable for snow and ice covered roads. The tread pattern features a heavily siped, fine-block design with grooves that are deep and wide, providing excellent driving traction and braking performance on winter road surfaces.
- Outaouais: a river in southeastern Canada that flows along the boundary between Quebec and Ontario to the Saint Lawrence River near Montreal
- a member of the Algonquian people of southern Ontario
- the capital of Canada (located in southeastern Ontario across the Ottawa river from Quebec)
- The federal capital of Canada, in southeastern Ontario, on the Ottawa River; pop. 313,987. From its founding in 1827 until 1854, it was named Bytown after Colonel John By (1779–1836)

Took off early Friday morning on an overnight trip to Ottawa. The main attraction was the Rideau Canal. Its a waterway that flows from Ottawa to Kingston and is 202 km long. During Winter though the first 7 or so K's are open to ice skaters. So thats what I did. I think we skated a total of 13km, it was tiring but a unique experience, my favourite part was skating underneath a bridge...not something you get to do that often.
Winter Tires ?
It's a bit blurry because of the snow falling on the windscreen, but this bus had slid into a ditch on a fairly straight piece of road. We were glad we still had our winter tires on !
